Community Thanksgiving Service! #

Holy Comforter joins with other local churches for a community service of praise and thanksgiving on Sunday, November 18 at 6 p.m. at First Presbyterian, Angleton. Worship will be followed immediately by a potluck supper. Offerings of non-perishable food items and money will be received for the Community Food Pantry.

Bluegrass & Bar B Q! #

Welcome Bishop Doyle! #

This Wednesday, September 19, HC welcomes Diocese of Texas Bishop Andy Doyle for a service of baptism, confirmation, reception, and reaffirmation!  The service  begins at 7 p.m. and concludes with refreshments in the Parish Hall.  It will be a great celebration...please join us!

Busy Weekend! #

All are invited to the Parish House this Friday, 9/14 for TGIF!  Bring a favorite snack and come socialize with us from 7-9.  Childcare by reservation. On Saturday, 9/15 , we're sprucing up the campus (rain or shine) at a Parish Work Day!  We start at 8 a.m.  Lunch provided.

Scholarship Award this Sunday, July 15 #

The first ever Holy Comforter scholarship has been awarded to Christina Vargas, an AHS 2012 graduate!  She will be with us at 10:30 Sunday to tell us about her exciting plans for study at UT and beyond.  Christina is an outstanding student and a very active member of Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church, here in Angleton. Congratulations to Christina!

Blessing of the Pregnancies...and more! #

On Sunday, July 8 we will bless expectant families at the 10:30 service.  Additionally, at both services, we welcome Vivek Mathew back to HC's pulpit!  Vivek, a 2011 graduate of Princeton Theological Seminary, is currently studying philosophy at Oxford University.  We are grateful for his presence!

Ordination of Deacons! #

On Saturday, June 16, the Diocese of Texas will ordain nine candidates to the Sacred Order of Deacons at Christ Church Cathedral.  The service of Ordination and Holy Eucharist begins at 10 a.m. All are welcome to participate in this holy event!

Pentecost Sunday! #

Sunday, May 27 is a happy day!  Welcome Holy Spirit!  On this day we  celebrate Holy Comforter's "birthday"--115 years of Episcopal Ministry in the Angleton community.   Also this year we say a fond good-bye to our music director/organist, Daniel Russell, who is moving to Nashville.  A potluck luncheon will follow the 10:30 service.  Join us for a great morning of worship & joy!

History & nature buffs, take note!! #

Our sister church, St. Mary's West Columbia, stewards the Nash Prairie Preserve, the only pristine prairie on the Gulf Coast.  On Sunday, May 6 from 1-5 p.m., the Prairie will be open for a "tourist day."  Learn the fascinating history of the prairie and the settlement of Texas' Gulf Coast.
