A brief history of our parish

• 1897: Began as a Sunday School meeting in a one room school house
• 1898: Received as a Mission in the Diocese of Texas
• 1899: First Church building consecrated; Destroyed in The Great Storm of 1900
• 1902: Second Church building consecrated by the Rt. Rev George Kinsolving
• 1943: Granted Parish status by the Diocese of Texas
• 1956: Current church building consecrated
• 1977: Holy Comforter Episcopal Day School established
